How to Create an Order in CODRocket
Creating orders is the core function of CODRocket. Whether you receive orders through phone calls, social media messages, your website, or integrated e-commerce platforms, CODRocket provides a fast and flexible order entry system. This article covers all the methods available for creating orders and best practices for data accuracy.
Method 1: Manual Order Creation
The most common method for COD businesses is manual order entry. This is ideal when you receive orders via phone, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or Instagram DMs.
- Go to Orders > All Orders
- Click the "+ New Order" button in the top-right corner
- Fill in customer information: name, phone number, delivery address, and city
- Add products: select from your catalog or enter custom product names and prices
- Review the total amount including delivery fees
- Click "Save Order"
Method 2: Quick Order Entry
For high-volume order processing, use the Quick Order form:
- Access it from Orders > Quick Entry
- The simplified form shows only essential fields: customer name, phone, city, product, and amount
- After saving, the form automatically clears and is ready for the next order
- This method can process up to 3x more orders per hour compared to the standard form
Method 3: Import from Spreadsheet
If you have a batch of orders in a spreadsheet, you can import them all at once:
- Go to Orders > Import
- Download the CSV template provided
- Fill in your order data following the template format
- Upload the completed file
- Review the import preview for any errors or warnings
- Confirm the import to create all orders simultaneously
For more details, see Bulk Importing Orders.
Method 4: Auto-Import from Integrations
If you have connected an e-commerce platform (WooCommerce, Shopify, or YouCan), orders are automatically imported into CODRocket. Visit our integration guides for setup instructions.
Order Fields Explained
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Customer Name | Yes | Full name of the recipient |
| Phone Number | Yes | Primary contact number |
| City / Zone | Yes | Delivery destination |
| Address | Yes | Complete delivery address with landmarks |

Best Practices for Order Creation
- Always verify phone numbers: Invalid numbers are the leading cause of failed deliveries in COD markets
- Include landmarks in addresses: In many MENA cities, street addresses alone are insufficient for drivers to locate customers
- Use the source field: Tracking where orders come from helps you measure the ROI of your marketing channels
- Confirm orders promptly: The sooner you confirm with the customer, the higher the delivery success rate
