Setting Up Delivery in CODRocket
Delivery is the most critical component of any Cash on Delivery business. A well-configured delivery system reduces return rates, improves customer satisfaction, and ensures efficient cash collection. This comprehensive guide walks you through every aspect of setting up delivery operations in CODRocket.
Delivery Configuration Overview
CODRocket supports multiple delivery models to match your business needs:
- In-House Delivery: Manage your own fleet of delivery drivers directly in CODRocket
- Third-Party Carriers: Integrate with external logistics providers (Ameex, Ozon Express, Send It, Onessta, Digylog)
- Hybrid Model: Use your own drivers for local deliveries and third-party carriers for long-distance shipments
Step 1: Configure Delivery Zones
Delivery zones define the geographic areas you serve and the associated delivery fees:
- Navigate to Settings > Delivery Zones
- Click "+ Add Zone"
- Enter the zone details:
- Zone Name: e.g., "Casablanca City", "Greater Rabat", "Northern Region"
- Cities/Areas: Select the cities or areas included in this zone
- Delivery Fee: The standard delivery charge for this zone
- Estimated Days: Expected delivery timeframe (e.g., 1-2 days)
- Free Shipping Threshold: Optionally, orders above this amount get free delivery
- Save the zone and repeat for each delivery area you cover
Step 2: Add Delivery Drivers
If you use in-house delivery:
- Go to Partners > Delivery agents
- Click "+ Add Driver"
- Enter the driver's information:
- Full name, phone number, and email
- Assigned zones (which areas this driver covers)
- Vehicle type (motorcycle, car, van)
- Maximum daily capacity (number of deliveries per day)
- The driver receives login credentials for the CODRocket mobile app where they can view their assigned orders, navigate to addresses, and update delivery statuses
Step 3: Configure Delivery Workflow
Define how orders move through the delivery process:
- Auto-Assignment: Enable automatic assignment of orders to drivers based on their zones and current load
- Manual Assignment: Assign orders to specific drivers manually from the dispatch board
- Batch Assignment: Group multiple orders going to the same area and assign them as a batch to optimize delivery routes
Step 4: Set Up Cash Collection
Configure how COD payments are managed:
- Daily Reconciliation: Drivers remit collected cash at the end of each day. CODRocket tracks the expected amount vs. actual amount collected
- Per-Delivery Recording: Each delivery completion records the exact amount collected
- Deposit Tracking: Track when drivers deposit collected cash to your business account
Step 5: Delivery Notifications
Configure automated notifications for the delivery process:
- Driver Assignment: Notify drivers via push notification when new orders are assigned
- Customer Out-for-Delivery: Send SMS to customers when the driver is en route
- Delivery Confirmation: Notify you when an order is successfully delivered
- Failed Delivery: Alert you immediately when a delivery attempt fails
